NOSOKOMA

NosoKoma is a collaborative project with London-based sound artist, performer and lecturer, Jose Macabra.

The debut album, Tarantos 20_24 was out on Phage Tapes.

“…Tarantos 20_24 often sounds like a factory where things are going horribly wrong, with broken rhythms, screeching noises, and voices that seem to be crying out in pain.” The Battleground

This project was birthed in 2020 when time and connectivity became skewed, where we were forced to be separated. This meeting of minds focussed on physicality, spontaneity and immediacy, filling the gap of what had been forbidden; they used that void to create and connect.

Tarantos 20_24” is a product of experimentation. Elements of Dadaism, Surrealism, Live art, and Art brut swap and shift; the result is a musical journey that is both haunting and beautiful. Personal experiences of loss, captivity, mental torture and fear deeply influence this body of work reflecting the human condition.

The album is characterised by haunting noises and indecipherable lyrics that transcend the boundaries of language; exploring the darker recesses of the human mind, leading listeners down a path of revelation.
Moments of mesmerising automatism intertwined with mysticism and intrigue combine sound and concept.

This introspective journey is an homage to the power of music. The duo express the inexpressible, transcending language and culture to touch the deepest parts of the human soul.
